We have been testing various release candidates for Internet Explorer 7 for some time now, at the end of the day it’s better than IE 6.x, however there are still problems.
The last couple of weeks since the release has seen major security flaws found in the browser. It seems that Microsoft just can’t get it right, but to be honest, it’s much better than previous versions.
As far as features go, it just barely meets the minimum requirements for a modern browser, nothing new, nothing astonishing, just the same things we’ve seen in many browsers like FireFox and Opera.
Being in development for a long time, IE 7 was Microsoft’s one chance to leapfrog ahead of the competition and take a firm hold (again) of the lead in the ‘Browser Wars’, but they barely matched current technology. We recommend that everyone upgrade their older versions of IE, but for more features and greater security, switch to Firefox.
