Mozilla, the company behind Firefox, has partnered with one of the most respected online security experts to help you know when your personal info is exposed. Firefox Monitor lets you check your email address for known past breaches, and even sign up for ongoing alerts. When you join Firefox, you’ll be able to monitor multiple email addresses, and keep track with a dashboard for all your accounts, monitoring and alerts.

Microsoft is rolling out its new Edge browser
Firefox-level privacy, Chrome-level compatibility. The new Edge browser is based on Chromium, the open-source project that is the foundation of other browsers like Google’s own Chrome. Essentially, Edge is a stripped-down version of Chrome with all the Googly stuff replaced by Microsoft features. Like Mozilla’s Firefox, Edge also focuses more on privacy features with built-in tracking protection. And on top of that, Microsoft has split Edge out from the Windows 10 operating system, and will receive updates every six-weeks. With versions for Windows, MacOS, Android, and iOS you can try the new browser on your desktop, laptop, and phone.

Web Site Notification Requests To Become Less Annoying
Starting in Firefox release 72 and Chrome release 80 web notification requests will be getting less annoying, but may upset website owners that use notifications to drive traffic.

Microsoft Plans to Switch Microsoft Edge to Chromium
Microsoft says it plans to replace the proprietary EdgeHTML browser engine Edge currently uses with Chromium and the Blink browser rendering engine, an which is an open source project that powers everything, from the world’s most popular web-browser (Google Chrome) to famous desktop apps like Spotify.

Google Introduces Feature Policy
Feature Policy allows you to opt-in to a set of “policies” for the browser to enforce on specific features used throughout your site. These policies restrict what APIs the site can access or modify the browser’s default behavior for certain features. For example you can control the features of an iframe, currently supported by Chrome and Safari. If you embed a site and do not want that site to use geolocation, camera or microphone APIs then you can easily disable them.

Cleaner/Simpler copy will continue to lead the way. Look for ways to simplify your message and cut out unneeded text and insert white-space.
Instagram will continue to grow as not only a strong platform social but as an e-commerce platform as well. Video, especially live video will become more pervasive, you need to have video in your content mix or you’re going to lose out on attention grabbing moments as people scroll through their feeds.
